Slack pulse survey

Daily pulse surveys, answered right in Slack

Your team gets one anonymous question a day as a Slack DM and answers with one tap. No browser, no login, no account. A daily check-in Slack bot that respects people's time and their privacy.

Free on every plan. No card required.

How the Slack pulse survey works

Setup takes a few minutes. After that it runs itself, every day.

1

Connect your workspace

An admin clicks Connect Slack in Settings and approves the app. Some workspaces need a Slack admin to approve it first.

2

Add your people

Add teammates straight from your Slack workspace, then choose Email, Slack or Both for each person. Select all to switch everyone at once.

3

They answer in one tap

Each morning, a DM arrives with the question and one button per answer. Tap once and it's done. They can add an anonymous comment if they want.

An anonymous Slack survey, for real

Anonymity isn't a setting we flip. Answers given in Slack are stored exactly like answers given by email: with no link back to the person.

What we store

  • The answer someone picked and the date they picked it.
  • Comments, with no name attached.
  • Your workspace and the Slack users you picked, so we know where to send questions.

What we don't store

  • Who gave which answer. Nobody can look it up, including us.
  • A record of who answered. People just drop off that day's reminder list.
  • The time of day someone answered.

One reminder DM goes out in the afternoon, only to people who haven't answered yet. We make that work without recording who answered: the reminder list shrinks as people answer and is wiped every day.

Team pulse in Slack, every Monday

Pick a public channel and every Monday we post last week's Health Score and category scores there. Only totals are posted, never individual answers. It's an easy way to keep the whole team in the loop without anyone opening a dashboard.

Free on every plan

Slack is included on every plan, including Free. No add-on, no per-seat surcharge. Your plan's seat limit still applies. See pricing for the details.

Common questions

Is it anonymous?

Yes. When someone taps an answer in Slack, we store the choice and the date. Nothing else. There is no link back to the person, so nobody can see who answered what, including us.

Do people need a Daily Question account?

No. People answer right in the Slack DM with one tap. No browser, no login, no account.

What about people who aren't on Slack?

Choose Email, Slack or Both for each person. You can mix them on the same team, and Both sends it each way with one answer counted.

Does the Slack integration cost extra?

No. It's included on every plan, including Free. Your plan's seat limit still applies.

Can people add a comment?

Yes. After answering, an optional Add a comment button opens a short comment box. Comments are anonymous too.

What does the app need access to in Slack?

It sends DMs, lists people and public channels so you can add people and pick a results channel, and reads messages people send directly to the app so it can reply. It doesn't read your channels or other conversations.

How do I disconnect?

Click Disconnect in Settings, Integrations, or remove the app from your Slack workspace. People go back to email (anyone added straight from Slack once they verify their email) and we delete the connection.
